The Nikon 1X Objective Condenser Mistake
Read the Edited Video Transcript for ‘The Nikon 1X Objective Condenser Mistake’
Hi, this is Chad with Munday Scientific. Today, we’re going to talk about some Nikon objectives—specifically, the Nikon Plan 1x objective.
We recently had a pathologist call in who wanted to use this objective on a Nikon microscope. We’re getting ready to assemble a Nikon CI, and they requested the 1x objective. Since this lens is quite popular, we wanted to highlight the correct condenser to use with it.
A lot of people think that any flip-out condenser will work, but for this objective, you specifically need the Nikon C-SSW condenser. You can see here it’s labeled for use from 1x to 100x. The top element flips in like this, and your diaphragm is right here.
Using the correct condenser is essential—if you don’t pair them properly, the field won’t be fully illuminated.
We just wanted to show you that quickly. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at —that’s M-U-N-D-Y microscope dot com. Or you can call at 919-775-5596.
