I cannot recommend Munday Microscope enough for any instrument repair you may need. Our Olympus SZX12 stereomicroscope zoom belt broke, and we were dismayed to discover that this part has been long discontinued and unavailable in the Pacific Northwest. We reached out to other repair services across the country and were essentially told that we were out of luck and should consider buying a newer model microscope.

We found a facebook video posted by Munday documenting the exact repair we needed, and after reaching out to them we got a response from Chad Potts the same day to let us know that he could do our repair. He walked us through the disassembly of the instrument and gave excellent guidance on how to protect it during shipping. The entire repair process of our SZX12 zoom belt--including shipping from Seattle to North Carolina and back--took a week, and was extremely well-priced (especially considering that we were recommended to purchase a new scope instead of repairing our awesome SZX12!). Chad is a wonderful point person, and is super knowledgeable and friendly. Please check out Munday Scientific for any products or services you need. I think you will be as pleased with them as we are in our lab at University of Washington!

Well, it's been exactly 4 weeks since I received the BX41.  It was easy to assemble and adjust.  I now have a camera adapter on the top for my Canon and the results are terrific.

I had a chance to do a lot of testing and comparing results between my Amscope and the BX 41.  I must say that the optics on the Olympus are far superior to the Amscope optics.  The microscope construction is more solid. I am glad I made the investment.  I was about to try upgrading the optics on the Amscope, but the cost of better optics was so high, I decided to just get an overall better scope.  The Dark field condenser works great.  I couldn't get the Amscope dark field to work very well.
